R.I.P. Elmore Leonard.
I can’t express my loving tribute to him better than in this 1996 review, even though it is critical of an instance in which he fell short of his best. He set such a high mark. How sad to lose him.

The editors made two mistakes in typesetting this review. They substituted “Basic” for “Basie” (the Count), and they substituted Treasure of the Sierra Madre for High Sierra.

I never read him and I’m going to start. Do you mind, Amba, if I leave a small message? Here ’tis: Do you remember an elderblog of a few years past, Code Name Nora?
