The Silence of the Blog
Please do not think of the lack of posts here as an absence. Think of it as a presence, a powerful contribution to and comment on the national dialogue. What could be more eloquent, more refreshing, more incisive, more definitive, than silence? Responding to blather with more blather is a defeat. Responding with silence, allowing it to expose its own blatherdom in a suddenly hushed room, is an aikido-like victory.

Whew! So all that sitting on the sofa is that Astaire-like dancing I’ve aspired to? This blog is totally genius….

Bullshit, you’re just having fun in the city.
Which is a good thing btw.

Actually, I’m having fun in Florida till mid-March, with my parents (94 and 88). (I’m sorry, Charlie, to be telling you that at this moment.)

I attribute it to a post-holiday lassitude brought on by too much food, drink and merriment.

See how patient i have been?
I’m usually the 1st one to break the silence.
Feeding calves in hutches in blow freezing weather, btw- is tiring.
Glad you’re in Florida:0).

I miss you all too. I just seem to have clammed up and fallen in a hole. What I’m going through now (absolutely nothing — that’s the point! — just inconclusive, bewildering internal changes) is hard to share, since I can’t make any sense of it myself.
Meanwhile, does anyone want to figure out how/when to come with me to visit Randy? Randy, could you stand a visit?

Ron (#2), I’m frustrated at not being able to “like” that . . .

It was bound to happen.

I could always try and whip out a few guest posts. We’ll see.

I’m not scared to say- i’m scared of Facebook.
Although- i’m way open on a blog, so– maybe it’s the pics?

Karen, it’s not so much that I’m scared by it, I just don’t want yet another thing wasting my time. Blogs are enough! Besides, I guard my privacy to a certain extent by just not giving out my name. If someone who didn’t know my name from other itneractions wanted to figure out who I was they could probably do so, but to that end I just stay small and anonymous, so why would anyone want to figure out who I am?
As for being open, just change your online name, change your profession, and change your state. Then you start to disappear from scrutiny. You could be Bobbie the lama herder from Idaho – WE’LL all know who you are, but you’ll be shielded from new prying eyes!

Llamas spit!!!!
Nah– that’s not quite what i meant- about the fear. Maybe i am more open and honest since no one(well, amba and Randy have met me)here “knows” me. Facebook is a family/friends thang around here and they all know way too much- old stuff that never gets a break. It’s the “2 clues” episode all over again.
Facebook is like wildfire– friends are like potato chips(or an std- depends, eh?), but here- we can show/share more of our inner selves, IMhumbleO. Besides, my daughter talks like a trucker on her facebook– i don’t need to see that.
I admit my impression of facebook is pretty bias(t?).
Ice– do you like Newt?

I was trying to come up with a Facebook as social disease joke for my earlier comment but couldn’t make it work.
Ice– do you like Newt?
No. And don’t break containment!

It is “I” said the “eye, or should that be “me”? Who knows? Who cares? Does it matter? [clue/que chorus] “Does anyone ever know what time it is?” [clue/que chorus] <clue/cue "Doe anyone really care?"
Anyway, perhaps, as the white rabbit said long ago, "No time, no time… ;-), and not in the good sense normally portrayed by that remark. Amba, you and virtually single one of he regulars here are welcome any time.

Nonsense. I’m fine. And I’m glad you’re having fun, you deserve it. (Actually I’m so fine it’s freaking me out a little. Six months of writing a novel about being the Buddha may be having an effect.)
