Whoosh!
As New York prepares for the biggest amount of blow since Studio 54, here’s hoping our blogmistress finds some isle of security from Hurricane Irene, complete with cats in tow!
Fingers — and eyes! — crossed!

Let’s hope she doesn’t have to tow those cats anywhere, because if she does, I do!

Do you think you’ll have to evacuate?

@amba: A little late ’70s era jazz via YouTube to get you through the weekend: Link.
Stay dry!

No, evacuation is unlikely. We are in Zone C, which would be under evacuation orders only in the case of a direct hit from a Cat 3 or stronger. And even if that happened, where would we go?? Anyway, the chances of that hard a hit are minuscule. Thanks all for the storm cheer, though. Chicken, I will enjoy that as long as the power stays on!

Look on the bright side. Having lived in North Carolina, you are much more experienced than most New Yorkers in how to cope!
Stay, safe, Annie!

The power company called yesterday to make sure all farmers had access to a generator as the power could be out upward to a week. Luckily for us, we do. I remember being furious @my husband spending $$$$ on a brand-spanking-new one, but have since eaten my angst of money thought to be down the drain when it really saved our butts.
All my friends– stay safe!!
Amba, you know i still get a little swoop in my stomach and warm feeling in my heart thinking of the 1st time i saw you? I’ve thought of our meeting every day- i’m like a little kid, that way– pulling memories from my pocket to examine in the VT sun:0). A few days after you visited, we had a little heifer born of Kate– we named her Kharma. Yes, yes- the squiggly line says no ~h~, but i think it’s prettier that way.
