I noticed a segment of the iconic painting resembled a map of my state. The Administration has adopted a policy of discouraging federal employees from scheduling meetings or workshops in states with gaming, which has the locals upset, since we have 12.3% unemployment and the highest foreclosure rate in the nation, while hotel rooms go begging for under $30 at some strip hotels. It seems it looks better if federal employees go to more wholesome places – like Chicago, even if it costs the taxpayers a little more.
Ugh. Once upon a time politicians used a little theater to sell policies. More and more, theater becomes policy.
Tip O’neill famously said all politics is local. Our President, who scored points in this swing state by canceling the Nuclear Waste Dump, is putting himself and Harry Reid at risk by supporting a policy harmful to the state’s economy.

Is this particular to the Obama admin?
